Emeco AlumiNEWS August 2007

The all-aluminum Emeco Zeppelin has been making the rounds this summer – Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Portland and Denver. Our trick in the summer heat? We only use an aluminum-based antiperspirant – it might cause mild forgetfulness, but it keeps us dry.

We’ve been presenting our “for credit course” for architects and designers – "Crafting High Quality Furniture" – a 30 minute multi-media extravaganza which offers free continuing education credits . More info at dan@emeco.net.

A combination of mutant black birds and a summer monsoon caused an explosion in the power intake at the historic Emeco factory. The power outage shut us down for two days, but the valiant efforts of Denis Tangen and his team of AlumniHeros re-opened the plant and kept us on delivery schedule.

Pennsylvania Representative Todd Platts (R) visited the Emeco factory for a tour and chat with the craftsmen. Emeco has tripled its workforce in the past four years, and for the first time in 20 years we are running a second shift.
