That’s what the US Navy demanded when we first started making mil-spec chairs for ships and submarines in 1944, and that’s how we still make them.

Our signature hand brushed finish is anodized. Unlike paint or plating, which sit on top of the metal, the anodization is integrated with the material itself. The electrolytic process thickens the natural, protective oxide layer of the recycled aluminum, converting the surface into a super hard wearing, scratch resistant, all-weather aluminum oxide, next to the hardness of a diamond.
