Navy Officer by Jasper Morrison, 2019

Jasper Morrison has given Emeco’s classic upholstered Navy Officer Collection a fresh, light and modern update with a range of upholstery options. The 80% recycled aluminum frame is available in Emeco's signature hand brushed finish or a black powder coat. Emeco's inhouse powder coat colors are available for all Navy Officer chair frames. We also offer COM/COL upholstery. Please contact us for details. The collection also features a side chair, a swivel chair and a swivel armchair.

With its long history, this humble but proud chair is an unimpeachable symbol of no-nonsense American ingenuity. Originally designed for the US Navy in the 1940's, Jasper Morrison thoughtfully refined the collection in 2019, making it relevant for today - and tomorrow.

It wasn't about style


In the throes of WWII, the US Navy needed a place to sit. The naval officers requested a softer seat than the shipboard 1006 Navy Chair®. Turns out, what worked for one demanding environment also suits many, many others.
