1104 Navy features a solid wood seat, hand carved in the iconic Navy seat shape by Amish craftsmen and fitted onto the classic Emeco Navy aluminum frame. Wood seats are offered in Ash, Cherry, Oak and Walnut, or Accoya for outdoor use. The wood is sourced locally, from sustainably managed forests, in partnership with our Amish neighbors in Lancaster, PA.

The 1104 Navy handcrafted aluminum frame is made using the same 77-step process that we originally developed in 1944 to make "torpedo proof" mil-spec chairs for US Navy ships and submarines. As it turns out, what works for one demanding environment also works for many, many others.
